Education

University of Tsukuba (筑波大学)
Bachelor of Arts in International Studies
September 2013 to the present day

I was accepted as part of the Japanese government's Global 30 program to promote internationalization to Japan's national universities.

Indiana Institute of Technology
Bachelor of Science in Networking (Cum Laude)
September 2005 to May 2009

I took four years of coursework mixing technology, ethics, and humanities. I was also deeply involved with the university's student life programs and several school associations.

Work

Web Developer
University of Tsukuba in Tsukuba, Japan
August 2014 to the present day

I led the redevelopment and redesign of university's English website and continued on as lead English web developer. Started an initiative to unify the many small departmental sites within the university into a single, cohesive entity.

Teacher of the English Language
Shire English School in Tsukuba, Japan
November 2013 to March 2015

I taught private English lessons to a varied group of pretty amazing children and adults. My lessons generally worked on basic phonetics and vocabulary for the kids and conversation for the teens and adults. I also learned that I am unable to win at Monopoly against a seven year old. My ego is fragile.

Web Developer
Vision It Now in Warsaw, Indiana, USA
August 2010 to December 2013

I spent three years wearing many hats like web developer, server administrator, customer support, trainer, social media guy, among others. I mostly wore the developer hat and was responsible for making and maintaining over 100 websites for a diverse clientele.
Also, death to IE.

Night School Instructor
Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) in Warsaw, Indiana, USA
January 2013 to February 2013

I taught a basic web design course for the university's Continuing Studies program. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the branch campus was closed shortly after my class ended. Not my fault.

Radio Producer
Northeast Indiana Public Radio in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
June 2011 to June 2012

I helped develop and produce the first twenty three episodes of 'Under the Influence' for my local NPR station, WBOI. I acted as the board operator during recording and edited the show afterwards into a fifty two minute radio masterpiece.

Conference Center Intern
Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
September 2006 to March 2009

I managed a team of eight student workers in the university's conference center. I spent my days preparing for client events, dealing with technical crises, doing graphic work for the student life department, and acting as the layout editor of the school newspaper. And doing my school work, of course. Got to have priorities.

Popcorn Technician
North Pointe Cinemas in Warsaw, Indiana, USA
May 2005 to August 2005

As far as summer jobs go, this wasn't too bad. I served patrons at the cinema concession stand and cleaned up theaters after the credits finished rolling. I saw the ending of Fantastic Four around fifty times.
